Interactive Focusing Center -- Structure and Objectives

Administration:

Janet Klein, Director
Mary McGuire, Associate Director

Master Teachers:
(list available on Web site)

Teachers:
(list available on Web site)

Students:
(list available on Web site)

Objectives of the Center:

  • To spread Interactive Focusing into the world by teaching people the process of Interactive Focusing and encouraging them to practice the process as broadly in their life as they can. We also encourage all who want to train to become teachers to help, in that way, to spread the gift of Interactive Focusing.
  • To provide training workshops and private consultations
  • To provide support to the teachers and students of Interactive Focusing
  • To provide resources in the form of articles, books, tapes, a Web site and periodic outreach via e-mail and the Web site
  • To remain in contact with the Focusing Institute

Teaching (Also See Teacher Certification):
The Center will be happy to assist Master Teachers and Teachers in designing their own teaching programs. The Center will also do as much as possible to facilitate communication and sharing between Teachers. This might be done over the Internet, by phone, group meetings and the like. The Center will maintain a Web site to facilitate and expedite communication and sharing.

Fees:
The Center hopes to be able to provide all these services and support without any dues or fees. We will use volunteers whenever possible.

Membership:
Anyone who is interested in Interactive Focusing and Interactive Focusing Therapy can become a member. We won’t do any "paper" mailings so you will need an e-mail address or arrange with another member to provide you with postings.

Web site:
We will maintain a Web site (www.interactivefocusing.com) including a "newsletter." We will make a directory of members available as well as a list of people desiring an Interactive Focusing Partnership. Postings by the members can be made to the Web site including the advertisement of services and workshops.

Our Web site will list links to other related web-sites such as The Focusing Institute. If you have your own Web site, you may arrange with us to list your Web site.

The practice of Interactive Focusing:
We emphasize the importance of Interactive Focusing in pairs (partnership and/or exchange) and groups and will do what we can to facilitate their formation. People wanting partners and existing groups will be posted on the Web site.

Scholarship:
We encourage our Teachers to charge for their services and to make scholarship available to those unable to pay.

Interactive Groups:
Gatherings to provide space and opportunity to come together to exchange Interactions in pairs or groups. This can lead to community building within the group which, hopefully, will lead to a sense of a larger community and community service.

Resources:
Books and tapes about Interactive Focusing
